| Customizing Web Landing Pages |
| Can I change the fonts and colors? |
| |
The system includes a simple to use style template editor so you can set up your landing pages to carry over the colors, look and feel, and brand of your main website.
|
|
 |
| Can I load my own images and files? |
| |
Yes. You can upload files from your system or use our images library tool to automatically retrieve images from your website.
|
|
 |
| Can I make the landing page look like my website? |
| |
Yes. The transition from your website to your landing pages can be seamless. You can also get a sub domain assigned to your weblandinpages.com account, so all your campaigns are part of your main website domain. Please contact us for help setting this up.
In addition, you can use the "Website Setup" feature to customize the header and footer for your landing pages.
|
|
 |
| Can I upload my logo? In which formats? |
| |
Yes, you can upload files from your hard drive or retrieve them from your website using our image library tool. The system supports any web standard image such as GIF, JPG, or PNG.
|
|
 |
| Do I need to know HTML to use this system? |
| |
No, you can create landing pages and use the system without knowing any HTML. Some advanced layout techniques may require some HTML knowledge. They HTML Editor tool has both a WYSIWYG mode and and advanced HTML edit mode to support both skill levels.
|
|
 |
| Will the transition from my website be smooth? How does this work? |
| |
Yes, depending on how you make your landing pages look. You have complete control over this. Typically, landing pages do not include navigation because you don't want people to click away from the landing page registration. Therefore, you may want to come up with a landing page template that looks like your main website but does not include your main navigation.
You can also work with Marketbright to create a subdomain for your landing pages. The standard format for URLs is like this:
| Company Name |
Acme Incorporated |
| Nickname |
acme |
| URL |
http://acme.weblandingpages.com |
By using a subdomain, Acme Incorporated could have this as their domain instead:
| URL |
http://landingpages.acme.com |
Typically setting up a subdomain includes the following:
- Contact us about which subdomains you want to include
- Ask your system administrator to create a "DNS A Record" and point it to this IP address: 216.55.166.78
- Once the DNS change propagates, the new subdomain will be up and running in roughly 24 hours.

| Optimizing Conversions |
| How do I know which demand generation activities are performing the best? |
| |
You can see the conversion rate for each activity at the aggregate level and the landing page level. This means you can compare email marketing vs. search engine marketing as a whole, and you can compare them for an individual campaign. This means you can optimize the channels you use to deliver demand generation activities based on what actually works the best for you.

 |
| What are tracking urls and why do I need them? |
| |
Tracking URLs are links that include a series of name and value pairs on the URL string that help identify when they are clicked in different analysis systems. Marketbright defaults to the Google Analytics tracking url format and also has built in tracking capabilities of its own.
To further illustrate what a tracking url is, take a look at this URL below:
|
| ?utm_id=621 |
Campaign Source |
| &utm_source=Google |
Where the ad ran |
| &utm_medium=PPC |
Type of ad |
| &utm_term=Chocolates |
Keyword term |
Tracking urls help you track multi-channel response from disparate systems. In other words, you can see which leads came from your Google ads vs. which ones came from Overture, a direct mail, banner advertising, etc.
|
|
 |
| What is a "Google friendly" tracking url? |
| |
Google Analytics lets you track results from other channels if you format the urls in a specific way. Marketbright automatically formats urls in this way making it easy to view advanced analysis in Google Analytics.
|
|
 |
| What is a "pretty url" and why would I need one? |
| |
A "pretty url" is a tracking url that is easy to remember or type in. If you are doing anything where prospects need to remember the url or type it in, these are ideal. For example, if you do a print piece, having a message that says "go to acme.com?utm_id=621&utm_source=directmail" is not very easy to type in or remember. Instead, you want to provide a "pretty url" which be more like "go to acme.com/start enter keyword directmail". Marketbright provides "pretty url" tracking to make tracking offline channels easier.

| What is the difference between a fallout rate and a conversion rate? |
| |
When you setup an online campaign, you typically want people to convert from anonymous web traffic to registered prospects. The fallout rate refers to the number or percentage of your prospects who fall out each step of the way. The conversion rate in the context of weblandingpages.com refers to the fallout from the first landing page and the thank you page.

The total number of people who hit the first landing page was 100 and the total who "converted" into prospects by completing the registration was 10, so the conversion rate would be 10%.

| What is the difference between online and offline activities? |
| |
Online activities occur via the web and include email, banner ads, search engine ads, and anything that involves clicking on a link. Offline activities are the more traditional advertising formats such as direct mail, magazine, radio, tv and newspaper ads, but can also include urls that are spoken at events or presentations.

 |
| What is lift? |
| |
Lift is the improvement in response from a mailing due to modeling and segmentation. Divide the response from a segment by the overall response, subtract 1 and multiply by 100. (Direct Marketing Institute).

|
| Generating Quality Leads or Responses |
| How do I get my responses from the system? What formats can I download them to? |
| |
To get your responses from the system, you simple go to the response link and click the download icon. Responses are available for download in Excel format or XML. You can also view the responses via your web browser and have them sent to you as they come in via email.
|
|
 |
| How do I get people to register on my landing pages? How do I drive demand? |
| |
Marketbright provides Search Engine Marketing services to help drive demand to your landing pages. You can also do this yourself. Other ways to drive demand to your landing pages include:
- Run banner ads on specific websites that reach your target audience
- Do emails or newsletter ads to lists that reach your target audience
- Purchase and execute a direct mail piece and use a "pretty url" to track response rates
Each medium has its own pros and cons. Direct mail can be perceived as a waste of money based on response rates. However, if you were targeting a very specific geographic area, like for example, a city, a direct mail might be very effective. Combining online and offline activities with very focused messaging and targeting can result in overall higher response rate by getting your message in front of the prospect more times. It is a common belief that it takes three incidents of a customer seeing your message before they respond positively. |
|
 |
| What is the difference between a response and a lead? |
| |
Responses are people who have registered and given you some contact information about them. Leads are qualified responses. Qualification entails validating that the information is accurate and that the prospect is actually interested in your product or service and is worth following up on.
|
|
| Reporting and Analytics |
| How do I insert my tracking code into the landing pages? |
| |
You can go into "web pages setup" in the Marketbright system and cut and paste your tracking codes. This will automatically include them in the footer of every web landing page. You can also further customize at the page level, if you need to have specific tracking attributes included in individual landing pages.
